Janell will be remembered as someone who genuinely cared for others as a nurse, neighbor, mother, and grand/great grandmother. One of her fondest memories as a young nurse was being the first person who held one of sister’s newborn daughters as she was present at the delivery. Janell worked at the Florida State Hospital for over 30 years and took pride in the care she provided to patients and the mentorship she offered younger nurses. She also worked at the Marianna Convalescent Center for a number of years providing care to those with long term health issues and those in need of short-term rehabilitation. She absolutely loved being a nurse and caring for others until she suffered a major stroke in December 1999. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant who attended Cypress Grove Assembly of God.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2026, beginning at noon central time with a funeral service at 1:00pm central time at McAlpin Funeral Home 8261 US-90 Sneads, FL 32460.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to her home church Cypress Grove Assembly of God 3250 Cypress Grove Road Grand Ridge, FL 32442 to the BGMC (Boys, Girls Missionary Challenge). In the memo space, make it for BGMC.
