John Haywood Land

John Haywood Land, age 79, of Marianna, FL passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation in Marianna, FL.

John spent much of his life as a farmer, tending corn, peanuts, and cotton. He also raised hogs and took great pride in the work of the farm, meeting each day with perseverance and a strong sense of responsibility. He was also an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in hunting and fishing, a trait that was passed down to his son, Jeremy. John was a licensed pilot and owned a Cessna 150, a source of great pride and enjoyment. With a landing strip located next to his home, he was able to enjoy the freedom of flight close to the place he loved most.

John was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Land of Marianna, FL; son, Jeremy Land and wife, Melissa; siblings, Steve Land and wife, Tonja, Joe Land and wife, Pam, Kathy Land and Charlene Land; grandchildren, Kaitlin Smith and husband, Jake, Kassie Land; nephew, Justin Land; and special friends, Donald White and wife, Marsha.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation for their professionalism and kindness towards both John and his family during his time there.
