Kathryn E. Banks, affectionately known as “Kitty” escaped the sufferings of this life into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 1, 2025, at the Courtyard. Kitty passed peacefully with her children by her side and will be greatly missed. She was 93.

Kitty was born to the late William C. Kimes, Sr. and Josephine Curci Kimes on April 1, 1932, in Hallendale, Florida. She married the love of her life, Mack K. Banks, on August 7, 1948. She had always desired to be a homemaker and a mother. They were blessed with four children and celebrated almost 65 wonderful years of marriage, until Mack’s passing in 2013.

Kitty had been a saved member of Greenwood Baptist Church since 1971. She served as a member of the choir for almost 40 years, participated in several committees, and eagerly worked in Vacation Bible School each summer. She always said that she “felt truly blessed in having a supportive family, a loving church, and a proud heritage.” She gave, “all the glory and honor to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Mack K. Banks; her son, David L Banks; her brother, William C. Kimes; and beloved sister-in-law, Joann Kimes.

She is survived by her children, Wanda Tidwell, Kristy Kaiser, and Mark Banks (Melissa); grandchildren, Christopher Tidwell, Paul Kaiser; great-granddaughter, Shelbi Tidwell; special sister-in-law, Patsy Caylor; and a host of many beloved relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Greenwood Baptist Church on May 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Greenwood Baptist Church, Emerald Coast Hospice, Partners for Pets, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
