Margaret Phyllis Rutherford
Margaret Phyllis Rutherford, known lovingly to family and friends as Phyllis, passed away in Marianna, Florida on her sixty eighth birthday, June 26, 2026. One can only wish for the celebration she is having with her Lord Jesus.
Phyllis spent many years working in the seafood and produce industry, where she was known for her hard work; especially at shelling peas and butterbeans. Later in life, she served as a CNA for 12 years at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center, where her compassionate nature and dependable care touched the lives of many. She was an exceptional caretaker in every sense, and her life’s work reflected her heart for helping others.
Phyllis loved cooking and fishing, and she found great joy in the simple blessings of life. Family events were among her favorite pastimes, and she treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved. Phyllis was happiest when she was caring for others, sharing a meal, or enjoying time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Owen Monday; her parents, James Franklin Moore, Sr. and Irene Day Moore Monday; her brother, Kenny Monday; her sister, Sharon Dykes; her sister-in-law, Lynn Smith and brother-in-law, Dennis Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Brad Monday (Kristin); daughter, Brandi Clemmons; her sisters, Deborah Marie Thomas, Teresa Smith, and Delores Turner (Mike); and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Bridget, Cheyanne, Makayla, Hunter, Evan, Chase, Caleb, Bradley, Brayden, Gracelyn, Serenity, Tristan, Kaydence, Kinsley, and CJ. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private family service will be at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
