James H. “Jimmy” Warren, Jr.

James H. “Jimmy” Warren, Jr.

James H. “Jimmy” Warren, Jr. passed away on December 24, 2025.

He was born on January 8, 1963, in Jacksonville, FL to James H. Warren, Sr. and Betty Wilson Warren. He grew up in South Georgia until the age of 15 when he later moved to Jackson County, FL.

Soon after moving to Florida, he met the love of his life, Sybil Guy of Marianna and they were married at the young age of 16. They later had two sons, Bert and Dillon.

Jimmy was an awesome family man and loved his family. He worked very hard for many years before retiring. He was employed with the City of Marianna for 10 years before going to work with the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department, where he worked his way up to District Supervisor. After seven and a half years, he moved on to Darby Construction for 15 years before returning to work with Jackson County in the Maintenance Department with the Jackson County Jail where he retired.

Jimmy never met a stranger. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He made many friends throughout all his years of working. His favorite thing to do was spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed cookouts, fishing and playing with his little fur baby, Peanut, who he loved dearly. He was often going to the beach, and fishing for saltwater fish with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Warren, Sr.; two sisters, Kathy and Nola Mae Warren; maternal grandparents, Zeik and Susie Wilson; paternal grandparents, Sam and Magelene Warren; mother-in-law, Mary Guy; sister-in-law, Rhonda Guy, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sybil Guy Warren; sons, James H. “Bert” Warren, III, and Dillon Warren and his wife, Amber; mother, Betty Maston; sisters, Patricia Warren, and Vicky Walker; brother, Eddie Warren; three grandchildren, Aiden, Lilly, and Kaley Warren; aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins; special cousins, Jerry Hagan of Crawfordville, FL, who called to check on him, or just to chat on a regular basis, as well as visiting when he could.

Jimmy will be missed by so many. He will be spending time now watching us from heaven.

Memorial service will be 2 PM Monday, January 5, 2026 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

There will be a special ceremony to scatter his ashes at Mexico Beach, his favorite getaway place, at a later date.
