Demetria Richards-Bell

On June 20, 1968, Demetria Richards-Bell was born in Miami, Florida, to the late Eotree Bell and Calvin T. Turner, Sr. On September 27, 2025, she peacefully exchanged her earthly labor for eternal.

Demetria is survived by her younger sisters and brother: Margaret Turner, Sacrine Turner Douglas (Jessie Douglas Sr.), and Calvin Turner. Nieces and nephews: Keena Turner, Ferlean Turner, Nihita Turner, Duwon Clark, Jessie Douglas, Jr., JuQon Douglas, Jurrod Cook, Kayvon Turner, Keyon Turner, Keyon’Dre Turner, LaMayah Douglas, LaMarcus Douglas, Cedric Angoma, James Turner, Takeena Pollock, Zariyah Pollock, Antonio Pollock, Jerald Dorsett, Amir St.Joy, Charles Robinson, Messiah St. Joy, Demari Davis, Jusi Dougals, Jaheil Douglas, Ja’lahni Douglas, Jakari Douglas, Bless James.   Demetria did not have kids but was a mother to her nieces, nephews and younger cousins. Special recognition for Euguene White, Shontae Gordon and Tyquon Highsmith.  Her loving sisters: Sheena Shaheed, Twanna Brown and cousin Sandra Granberry.   Her memory will prevail amongst a host of aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. aunts and uncles: Cecil Highsmith, Regina Harris-Highsmith (Richard Harris), Steven Highsmith, Selena Highsmith, Luman Highsmith (Tiffany Highsmith), Marcus Highsmith (LaTica); and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be Friday, October 10th from 3-6pm at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.  A homegoing celebration will be Saturday, October 11th at 1pm at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Moderator Dr. Dwight Cockerham, Sr., and Reverend Kevin Williams officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
