Mr. Richard Sills, Sr., age 61, of Graceville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2025, in Graceville, Florida.
Born on September 29, 1963, in the sun-kissed city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Richard's journey through life was one marked by dedication, service, and an unwavering commitment to his family and country. He served his country in the United States Navy receiving an honorable discharge.
Richard's legacy is carried on by his beloved children, Kelsei Sills and Bryce Sills of Graceville, Florida; Richard Sills, Jr., and Jordan Sills of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Willie Phillips of Lafayette, Florida; Brandon and Erika Roberts of Gainesville, Florida; and Ieshia Sills of Miami, Florida; and Janice of Niceville. His guiding light will continue to shine through his cherished mother, Alma Medley of Sunrise, Florida, and his devoted siblings, Gary and Jasmine Sills, Roosevelt Sills of Sunrise, Florida; Shirley James of Texas; and Terry and Ismael Figueroa of North Lauderdale, Florida. His spirit will also live on in the hearts of his thirteen grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who were blessed to know him.
Richard's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. His service in the United States Army was a profound expression of his commitment to his children and to the country he held dear. Receiving an honorary discharge, he exemplified the virtues of courage and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on all who served alongside him.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 24, 2025 in the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida, with military honors, with Minister Ruben Merritt officiating, under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
