Terry Lee Banning

Terry Lee Banning, 76, of Alford, Florida died Monday, May 12, 2025, at his residence. He was born December 20, 1948, in McAllen, Texas to Sylvan Banning and Norma Hickman Banning, and raised in Richmond, Indiana.

In 1966 he moved to Sarasota, FL where he graduated Riverview High School in 1967. Terry's careers were his passion and joy. He traveled the world rigging ocean race boats. Terry was a master mechanic, specializing in big trucks and boats. He worked as the fleet manager for Forrest Products of Sarasota for 25 years. Upon moving to Alford, Florida in 2005, he began working for The University of Florida IFAS Research Facility. He worked for them as their maintenance manager until his retirement.

Terry is survived by his wife of 27 years, Valerie Banning; son and daughter-in-law, Jordan and Sarah Hawley; and one granddaughter, Skyler. He will always be remembered by his loyalty, integrity graciousness and unbounding love to his family and friends.
