Thomas R. Paine
Thomas R. Paine
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas R. Paine, affectionately known as "Tommy," who left this world on February 12, 2026, at his home. Born on May 15, 1954, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Tommy lived a life filled with passion for the outdoors, family, and cherished hobbies.
Tommy's love for nature was evident in everything he did. He found great joy in working on his tractor, exploring the beauty of the land around him, and indulging in his love of hunting. His connection to the outdoors was only rivaled by his affection for his beloved Husky dogs, who were always by his side. Additionally, Tommy was an avid car enthusiast, proudly owning muscle cars, classic cars, and the hot rods he fondly referred to as his prized possessions.
He leaves behind a loving family: his devoted wife, Donna "Lynn" Paine; his two sons, Dr. Robert Thomas Russell Paine and his husband Sawyer, and Captain Lee Michael Paine and his wife Devin. He was a proud grandfather to Marigaye, Raymond, and Hina Lee. Tommy is also survived by his brother, William Robert Paine, along with many cousins, aunts, and uncles who will remember him fondly.
Tommy was preceded in death by several beloved family members, including his father, Robert T. Paine; his mother, Mary D. Wilson; his second mother who raised him since he was a baby, Mildred Paine; his daughter, Rachael Paine; and his sister, Frances Paine. Their influence and love undoubtedly shaped the man he became.
A Celebration of Life Service in honor of Thomas R. Paine will be held on March 27, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Chipley. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M with the service following at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Mike Orr will be officiating. As we remember Tommy, we hold dear the moments spent with him and the legacy he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
