Terry Martin Brown

Terry Martin Brown, 72, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, to William W. Brown and Toncy Brown.

Terry graduated from South Garland High School in Garland, Texas, in 1971. He began his college years at Texas A&M University, where he served as President of the Freshman Class. He later transferred to Sam Houston State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Terry continued his education at the University of Houston Law School, completing his studies and passing the bar within two years.

Following law school, Terry was elected as District Attorney for Polk County, Texas, where he faithfully served the community for 14 years. He also maintained law offices in both Houston and Livingston, Texas. 

Later in life, Terry closed his law profession and embraced his love of traveling. He enjoyed his life on his own terms, living with independence and adventure.

Terry was known for his quick wit, warm heart, and love of animals. He never hesitated to help a stray in need, showing kindness and compassion throughout his life.

He is survived by his parents, William W. Brown and Toncy Brown; sisters, Deborah Brown and Kara Brown Solis and her husband, Javier Solis; and nieces, Blake Newman, Katelyn Guinn, and Tucker Fairman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Terry’s memory to Friends of Jefferson Animals, 312 N. Walnut, Jefferson, Tx 75657, honoring his lifelong love of animals.
