Roy Gene Foxworth

Roy Gene Foxworth, 76 of Chipley, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2025 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama.

Roy Gene was born on March 26, 1949 in Palm Harbor, Florida to the late Arlie and Emma Lee (Skinner) Foxworth. After graduating high school he went into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Roy Gene loved spending time outdoors fishing, and he also enjoyed going to reunions for the class of 1968. Most of all, he loved his family and grandchildren dearly, and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Paul Foxworth, Alvin Foxworth, Johnny Foxworth, JR Foxworth and two step daughters, Leslie Foxworth and Bettie Rhoden.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bettie Foxworth of Chipley, Florida; daughter,  Bathina Shaw of Chipley, Florida; one step daughter, Dottie Davis and husband Royce of Donaldsonville, Georgia; two step sons, Alrie Foxworth and wife Tonya of Adrienne, GA, Calvin Foxworth of Chipley, Florida; brother, Jerry Foxworth and wife Hazel of Chipley, Florida; sister, Agnes Scurlock and husband Tommy of Chipley,Florida; grandchildren; Shay Batson and husband Dustin, Sampson Foxworth and wife Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 4:00P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Blaylock and Bro. Byron Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Saturday’s service will be: Stephen Foxworth, Matt Cooper, Byron Davis, Adam Foxworth, Joseph Foxworth, Roger Evans and one Honorary Pallbearer Dusty Evans.

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
