There will be a ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m. for Big Bend Hospice at the Russ House at 4318 Lafayette Street in Marianna. It will be followed by a reception.

The GFWC Marianna Woman’s Club will have a Boots and Bunco Night at their clubhouse at 2902 Caledonia Street in Marianna. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and there will be a $20 donation. Tickets will be needed to attend.

There will be a community workshop at the Alford Community Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to discuss plans for Jackson County Museum and Dozier Memorial Park.

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade will start at 9:30 a.m. in Marianna.  It will begin at Madison Street and end at Wynn Street. Lineup will be at 8:30 a.m. The parade will be followed by a worship service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at 2871 Orange Street in Marianna. Agape Youth Reachout Inc. will have a Faith and Worship Night featuring Jason Boggs and J Truth at Madison Street Park in Marianna from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Jackson County NAACP will have a Jackson County School District “Can We Talk Community Forum” at 6:00 p.m. at the Jackson County Agricultural Center at 3631 Highway 90 in Marianna. School Board Member for District 1 Chephus Granberry will be the special guest.

There will be a gospel sing at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown at 2:00 p.m.

There will be a grand opening for the Endeavor Convention Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m. at 4060 Governor Rick Scott Drive in Marianna. There will be tours, refreshments and a ribbon cutting at 11:00 a.m.

Individual tickets will be $20 and will be available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. They may be purchased at the Jackson County Farm Bureau Office located at 4379 Lafayette Street in Marianna. Proceeds from ticket sales will support agricultural youth organizations in the county.
