LEGAL NOTICE: City of Cottondale Cottondale Streets ~ Road Improvements

INVITATION TO BID

Sealed Bids for the construction/reconstruction/resurfacing of three (3) Cottondale City Streets (Thomas St – from SR 75 (US 231) to Zion St, Magnolia St – from Thomas St to SR 10 (US 90), and Zion St – from Thomas St to SR 10 (US 90)) will be received by the City of Cottondale at the City of Cottondale Town Hall located at PO Box 398, 2659 Front Street, Cottondale, Florida 32431, until 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday, September 4, 2025. The bids will be “publicly” opened and read at 2:01 p.m. (CST). The Project consists of approximately 338.3 tons of asphalt pavement, 644 square yards of base, and 24 LF of drainage pipe (one cross drain), with 2 mitered end sections. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, but awarded based on the lump sum of the unit prices.

Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Fridays between the hours of 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Bidding Documents are available as portable document format (PDF) files e-mailed free of charge. Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office’s receipt either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $_300_ per set, payable to “Alday- Howell Engineering, Inc.”, plus a non-refundable shipping charge. Upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will
be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids. Each Bidder must deposit with his/her bid security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. Sureties used for obtaining bonds must appear as acceptable according to the Department of Treasury Circular 570. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.

Attention: Bidding Contractors must be prequalified by the DEPARTMENT (FDOT) as required by Section 2 of the current FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction
