Friday: Risible – Adjective: Such as to provoke laughter; having the faculty or power of laughing; inclined to laugh. I was in a grumpy mood, but the risible new cartoon show turned it around.

Saturday: Inveigle – Verb: Persuade someone to do something by means of deception or flattery. We must inveigle him into participating in the auction.

Sunday: Encumber – Verb: Restrict or burden someone or something in such a way that free action or movement is difficult. He decided no to encumber her with his questions right before her big interview.

Monday: Amalgam – Noun:  A mixture or blend. An alloy of mercury with another metal, especially one used for dental fillings. The menu at her party was an amalgam of snack foods and fancy baked goods.

Tuesday: Horology – Noun: The study and measurement of time. The art of making clocks and watches. In an age of digital everything, horology still holds a certain old-world charm.

Wednesday: Grabble – Verb:  Feel or search with the hands; grope about. Sprawl or tumble on all fours. I had to grabble for the books hidden on the top shelf.

Thursday: Effulgent – Adjective: Shining brightly; radiant. Of a person or their expression, emanating joy or goodness.  The spotlight shot its effulgent beam right to the middle of the stage.
