Jackson Hospital Welcomes New Year’s Baby

Jackson Hospital proudly welcomed its New Year’s baby, Dahlia Thompson, born on January 2, 2026, at 9:51 p.m.

Dahlia weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured 19 ¾ inches in length. She is the daughter of Tiara Acevedo and Donald Thompson of Central Florida.

Dr. Orlando Muniz served as the obstetrician for the delivery, and Dr. Kaashmiri, locum pediatrician, provided pediatric care for the newborn.

“This is such a special way to begin the new year,” said Melanie Sellers, Director of the Maternal Care Department at Jackson Hospital. “Welcoming our New Year’s baby is a meaningful moment for our team, and we are honored that this family trusted us with their care during such an important time in their lives.”
