Optimist Park Tiny Mites Soccer Highlights

By: Shelia Mader

At Optimist Park, the 6-7 year-olds showed once again that soccer is more than just goals and wins. It’s about determination, teamwork, and even laughing off those “oops” moments, like the time a twin scored for the other team (straight out of Michelle Tanner’s Full House playbook!).

Tiger Sharks vs. Panthers

The Panthers edged out the Tiger Sharks 2-1. Emmalynn Bonin was the hero for the Panthers, scoring both goals and leading her team with sharp play. The Tiger Sharks kept it close all the way, proving once again that every team at Optimist Park comes ready to fight until the final whistle.

                                                                                  Lightning vs. Titans

In a battle of defense and determination, the Lightning and Titans finished in a 0-0 tie. The kids left it all on the field, showing that sometimes the most exciting games aren’t about the score, they’re about the effort.

Scorpions vs. Knights

The Knights put on a strong performance with a 7-0 shutout, but the Scorpions never stopped hustling and finding moments to cheer.

Scoring for the Knights: Owen Green (2), Knox Booth (2), Mattox Milton (1), Jace Tyler (1), Evan Stokes (1).

Warriors vs. Indians

The Indians claimed a 5-2 win with goals from Johnathan Wickman and Christopher Hall. Warrior scorers are still being tallied, but both squads showed grit, skill, and true sportsmanship from start to finish.

Scorpions vs. Tiger Sharks

In another tightly contested battle, the Scorpions and Tiger Sharks finished in a 1-1 tie. Ayden Garcia was the star for the Scorpions, scoring their lone goal and controlling the tempo throughout. Garcia had multiple shot attempts, including one waved off, but his persistence never wavered. On defense, Bexley Maxwell came up big with an outstanding save in the box to keep the game level.

Bigger Than the Scoreboard

From Emmalynn Bonin’s sharp scoring touch, to Ayden Garcia’s relentless play, to missed goals that should’ve been in this week at Optimist Park was a showcase of everything that makes youth soccer special. These kids remind us all that it’s not just about the wins, it’s about effort, kindness, and the joy of playing the game together.
