Word of the Day:

Friday: Apogee: Noun. The highest  point in the development of something; a climax or culmination. 2. The point in the orbit of the moon or a satellite at which it is furthest from the earth.  Earning a doctorate is considered the apogee in academic achievement.

Saturday: Panoply: Noun. A magnificent or impressive array. 2. A full suit of armor. 3. A display of all appropriate appurtenances. 4. Something forming a protective covering. The museum displayed a panoply of artifacts from different eras.

Sunday: Colloquy: Noun. Conversation, dialogue 2. A high-level serious discussion, conference. The brief colloquy helped clear up a misunderstanding before it escalated.

Monday: Menology: Noun. An ecclesiastical calendar of the months, especially a calendar of the Greek Orthodox Church containing biographies of the saints in the order of the dates on which they are commemorated.

Tuesday: Prerogative: Noun. Right or privilege, and especially refers to a special right or privilege that some people have. If you’d rather sell tickets than use them, that’s your prerogative.

Wednesday: Abdicate usually means to renounce a position of power such as a throne, high office, dignity, or function. It can also mean “to fail to do what is required by a duty or responsibility.  I know many challenges lie ahead but I take this role on willingly, and will not abdicate unwillingly.

Thursday:  Nobby: Adjective. Describing a person of wealth or high social position. It doesn’t matter if the rental car is a nobby convertible or a family minivan, I’ll be happy either way.
