Two Sneads Pirates Set to Continue Football Careers Together

By Shelia Mader

Players, coaches, family members, and friends filled the Sneads High School auditorium last Friday afternoon to celebrate a milestone moment for two Pirate standouts. VonKeith Chambers and Omari Hill signed their Letters of Intent, officially committing to continue their football careers at Lighthouse Pensacola Christian College.

For Chambers and Hill, the next chapter will look familiar in one important way. After years of lining up side by side in black and gold, the two teammates will once again share the same field at the collegiate level. Both signed with Lighthouse, an independent program that competes in the New South Atlantic Conference and is coming off an impressive 9–1 season.

Hill, a six-foot, 200-pound linebacker, made a strong impact for the Pirates during the 2025 season. He recorded 34 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles, along with 11 sacks that resulted in 67 yards lost. His presence on defense was steady and physical throughout the year.

Chambers, a 6’1”, 260-pound defensive end, brought size and strength to the Pirate defensive front. During his junior season, he tallied 11 solo tackles and 28 assisted tackles. In his senior campaign, he added two solo tackles and five assisted tackles while continuing to anchor the line.

While next season will bring a new stadium, larger crowds, and the demands of college competition, one constant will remain. Chambers and Hill will continue doing what they have done throughout their high school careers: competing together.

With Lighthouse coming off a standout season, the two Pirates now look ahead to contributing to another winning year at the next level.

The publisher and staff of the Jackson County Times congratulate VonKeith Chambers and Omari Hill and wish them the very best as they take this exciting step forward.
