Nannette Watts Named Interim Town Manager for Grand Ridge

The Town of Grand Ridge has welcomed Nannette Watts as its interim town manager. Watts, a Wakulla County resident, stepped into the role after discussions with Mayor Chris Wright and has committed to serving for six months.
Watts is now in her third week on the job and brings with her two decades of experience in public service. “I was in Wakulla County, working for the Board of County Commissioners and the Property Appraiser’s Office for the last 20 years,” she said. “I retired in November of last year.”
Her connection to Grand Ridge is personal, her daughter married Tyler Poole, a local resident. “When my son-in-law let me know what was going on here in the town, I reached out to the mayor and said, ‘Hey, if I can help some, let me know. I know you’re in a bad way,’” Watts explained.
Though she commutes from the northwest corner of Wakulla County, she’s committed to the temporary role. “It’s a drive, mainly why I am interim. I wouldn’t want to do this forever, but I told [the mayor] I felt like I could commit to six months. So that’s my goal.”
