Classic Cars and Community Spirit Shine at Grand Ridge Spring Fling

By: Shelia Mader

Grand Ridge’s Spring Fling rolled into town last Saturday after a week’s delay caused by much-needed rainfall, and the extra wait proved well worth it. Under mostly clear skies and surrounded by community spirit, residents and visitors gathered for a day packed with entertainment, food, vendors, and one of the most impressive antique car shows the area has seen in years.

Car enthusiasts were especially drawn to the stunning lineup of restored antique vehicles that filled the festival grounds. Gleaming chrome, polished paint, and meticulously restored classics stretched across the field, creating a showcase that left spectators in awe. One of the day’s biggest attractions was a breathtaking candy apple red Ford Mustang convertible restored to mint showroom-quality condition. The flawless restoration quickly became a favorite among attendees, with many stopping to admire every detail and snap photos beside the eye-catching classic.

Adding to the patriotic atmosphere, Bradley Clark, owner of Clark’s Pump Repair, proudly displayed a large American flag high above the event for all to see, serving as a centerpiece that reflected the strong community pride shared throughout the day.

Beyond the impressive car show, the Spring Fling offered something for everyone. Children laughed and played in bouncy houses while families enjoyed a wide variety of food vendors serving everything from festival favorites to sweet treats. Local vendors lined the grounds with crafts, merchandise, and unique finds, giving visitors plenty to explore throughout the afternoon.

Even the lingering threat of rain could not dampen the excitement or turnout. Friends, neighbors, and visitors gathered together to enjoy the festivities, proving once again the strength of small-town community spirit.

The Town of Grand Ridge deserves congratulations for making the decision to postpone the event in order to provide residents and visitors with the best possible experience. Their patience paid off, allowing the community to come together for a memorable day filled with fellowship, fun, and classic Americana.
