Pirates hit a roadblock
By: Shelia Mader
The Sneads Pirates faced a tough challenge on the road Friday night against the unbeaten Blountstown Tigers. Coming off a heartbreaking one-point loss to Liberty County, the Pirates knew they’d have to contend with a Tigers team that had outscored opponents 269-58 heading into the matchup.
When the clock ran out, Blountstown remained undefeated with a 58-6 win. Sneads’ lone score came from Tyran Thomas, who broke through for a touchdown run.
Despite the final margin, the Pirates continued to battle through all four quarters, showing determination on both sides of the ball. They’ll regroup this week as they prepare to host Jefferson County on Friday night. The Tigers enter with a 2-4 record, and Sneads will look to even things up and send them home at 2-5.
