Florida’s first-ever hunting, fishing and camping sales tax holiday begins
TALLAHASSEE, FL - Florida’s first-ever Hunting, Fishing and Camping Sales Tax Holiday began Monday.
The new tax holiday will give Floridians the chance to save money on outdoor gear, from tents and sleeping bags to rods, reels, bait and tackle. The holiday also covers certain items for hunters, including bows, crossbows and ammunition.
“We’re committed to helping Floridians keep more of their hard-earned money, and the Hunting, Fishing and Camping Sales Tax Holiday is one way to do that,” Gov. Ron DeSantis said. “Florida is a great state for outdoor adventure, and we’re working to keep it that way.”

The 2025–26 state budget signed earlier this year includes $2 billion in tax relief, with $450 million in savings specifically from sales tax holidays.
Qualifying items include:
Camping supplies: lanterns and flashlights ($30 or less), stoves, hammocks, chairs, sleeping bags ($50 or less) and tents ($200 or less).
Fishing gear: bait and tackle (up to $5 individually or $10 in a package), tackle boxes ($30 or less), and rods and reels ($75 individually or $150 in a set).
Hunting gear: bows, crossbows, ammunition and related accessories.
The holiday also comes with special discounts at state shooting ranges, including half-priced range passes on select dates and free passes for veterans on Nov. 9 in honor of Veterans Day.
In addition, the state will offer a discounted five-year Gold Sportsman License for $250 — a 50% cut in recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of America’s founding.
