Word of the Day:

Friday: Ardent: Adjective. Having or showing very strong feelings; passionate, enthusiastic, or eager.  She was an ardent supporter of the local arts, attending every gallery opening and play in town.

Saturday: Potation: Noun. The act of drinking, especially alcohol; a drink or draught. After the long harvest, the farmers gathered for a hearty potation of cider.

Sunday: Valediction:  Noun. The act of saying farewell; a statement or expression of goodbye. His speech at the retirement party served as both a thank-you and a touching valediction.

Monday: Funicular: Noun/Adjective.  (Noun): A railway, especially on a mountainside, with cars that move up and down by counterbalancing each other. Definition (Adjective): Relating to a rope or cable; operated by a rope or cable.  We rode the funicular to the top of the hill for a sweeping view of the city.

Tuesday: Euphony: Noun.  A pleasing or sweet sound, especially the harmonious effect of words spoken together. The poet’s verses achieved a rare euphony that lingered in the listener’s ear.

Wednesday: Multiverse: Noun.  A hypothetical collection of multiple universes, including the one we inhabit, often used in cosmology and science fiction.  The film explored the idea that every choice spawns a new reality within the vast multiverse.

Thursday: Hypnagogic: Adjective. Relating to the state of drowsiness or the transitional stage between wakefulness and sleep.  In the hypnagogic haze before sleep, she imagined conversations that felt more vivid than dreams.
