Pirates Dominate Jefferson County with 39-6 Win

The Sneads Pirates made a statement Friday night, rolling past the Jefferson County Tigers with a commanding 39-6 victory. The Pirates offense was unstoppable, piling up 513 yards, all on the ground, as they controlled the game from start to finish.

Leading the rushing attack was Tyran Thomas, who carried the ball 16 times for 206 yards and a touchdown. Pious Reed added 112 yards and a score on 16 carries, while TyShawn Travis contributed 103 yards and a touchdown of his own. Jacob Gilcrease made the most of his opportunities, finding the end zone twice on just four carries for 36 yards.

On defense, the Pirates showed the same level of dominance. Omari Hill led the way with six solo tackles and three assists. DJ Holmes and Janoah Williams each tallied three solo tackles and five assists, while Ronterrious Atkins recorded five solo tackles, two assists, and an interception that he returned 22 yards.

In scoring, Jacob Gilcrease paced the team with 12 points, followed by Tyran Thomas, who added six points from a touchdown and tacked on a two-point conversion. TyShawn Travis and Pious Reed each contributed six points with their touchdowns, and Dylan Stalvey connected on a point-after attempt to round out the scoring.

The Pirates will look to keep their momentum going when they host Lighthouse Private Christian Academy this Friday night. The matchup will also mark a special occasion as Sneads celebrates its homecoming and the crowning of the 2025 Homecoming Queen. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
