Indians Sweep Altha in Doubleheader Action

The Grand Ridge Indians made the most of their home field last week, sweeping the Altha Wildcats in a doubleheader. The B team opened the night with an 11-0 shutout, and the A team followed with a commanding 20-3 win.
B Team blanks Altha
The Indians’ B team needed just three innings to secure the 11-0 victory.
Clayton Albritton got the start on the mound for Grand Ridge, pitching two hitless innings. He allowed one walk and struck out two. Carter White closed out the game with a scoreless inning, giving up no hits or walks while striking out one.
Grand Ridge scored 11 runs on four hits and worked seven walks at the plate. Abram Varieur led the offense with two hits, a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs. Ashton Scott added a hit, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Jaxton Neel drew a walk, scored once and drove in two runs. Reese Griffin recorded a hit, scored a run and added an RBI, while Wyatt Cherhardy contributed a walk, a run scored and an RBI.
A Team powers past Wildcats
The A team kept the momentum going with a 20-3 win over the Wildcats.
Brody Ragans started on the mound and pitched one scoreless inning, allowing no hits, walking two and striking out one. Noah Phillips followed, surrendering two unearned runs on no hits with two walks and one strikeout. Emery Goodson closed the game, giving up one unearned run on no hits, walking two and striking out one.
At the plate, Glover Graham led the way with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Ragans helped his own cause with a hit, a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Goodson scored once and drove in two runs. Gabe Williams recorded a hit, scored twice and added an RBI, while Mason Mestas drew a walk, scored two runs and drove in one. Maddox Lanier showed patience at the plate with four walks, three runs scored and an RBI. Caden Neel scored a run and recorded an RBI, and Phillips added a walk and an RBI.
The Indians were set to travel to Chipley on Tuesday before returning home to host the Bainbridge Bearcats today, Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
