The Grand Ridge Indians made the most of their home field last week, sweeping the Altha Wildcats in a doubleheader. The B team opened the night with an 11-0 shutout, and the A team followed with a commanding 20-3 win.

America’s pastime is back on the diamond in Jackson County, and the Cottondale Hornets Middle School baseball program officially opened its 2026 season last week with a three-game stretch that offered plenty of learning moments, flashes of promise, and valuable early-season experience.
