Tiny Mites ending the season on a high note
By: Shelia Mader
The Warriors and Lightning battled to the wire, but it was the Lightning who came away with a nail-biting 1-0 victory. Dawson Windsor delivered the game’s only goal with just two minutes left on the clock, sending Lightning fans into a frenzy. His sister, Kinsie Windsor, was a constant presence on offense, pushing the pace and testing the Warriors’ defense. The Warriors’ goalie had an outstanding night, turning away at least 10 shots to keep his team in it until the final whistle.
In the second Tiny Mites matchup, the Knights edged past the Tiger Sharks 2-1. The Tiger Sharks struck first, but the Knights answered quickly with Evan Stokes leveling the score. The decisive moment came when Owen Green found the net for the game-winner. Late in the match, Rheya Butler came up big on defense, making a key stop in the fourth quarter to preserve the Knights’ lead.
The Knights shut down the Panthers 5-0. Jace Tyler opened the scoring before Owen Green netted two straight goals. Mattox Milton sealed the game with back-to-back scores, while goalie Owen Smith turned heads with a strong stop inside the box.
