Tiny Mites kicking with smiles

Last week was full of action as the teams took the field ready to kick their way to a win. They didn’t disappoint the crowd with excitement from Monday through Thursday. 

Lightning struck first, shutting out the Panthers 2-0 thanks to goals from Guiga (Guillermo Ojeda-Gonella) and Dawson Windsor. The Panthers had standout defense from Ansley Holmes and spirited play from Matilda Terry.

The Titans and Indians kept things close, but the Indians pulled off a 2-1 victory with both goals coming from Johnathan. Strong defensive play came from Maddex Johnson-Montgomery and Taylor Horne, while goalies Piper Johnson and Azarih Staley shined with big stops.

Tuesday saw the Panthers and Scorpions end in a 2-2 tie, with Panther goals from Ellie Brock and Emmalyn Bonin. Scorpions’ Ayden Garcia answered with two of his own, including a clutch penalty kick.

On Thursday, the Knights and Lightning went down to the wire. Darwin Windsor scored first for the Knights, but Brooks Ward put in the game-winner for the Lightning in the closing minutes, making it feel like a playoff game.

The Indians also dominated, rolling over the Tiger Sharks 8-0.
