The Wharf is Moving On Up!

The Wharf Restaurant on Highway 90 East in Marianna is preparing for a major expansion.

After outgrowing its original location, the restaurant has secured a larger site to support its continued growth. As of Thursday, January 8, 2026, The Wharf officially purchased the former Burger King building and adjoining lot at the intersection of Highways 90 and 71.

Raina Brown, spokesperson for The Wharf, confirmed Thursday afternoon that the paperwork had been finalized, making the property the future home of the restaurant’s larger location.

Brown said the new site will allow The Wharf to expand both indoor and outdoor seating while keeping its popular outside dining option. Plans also include the addition of a drive-thru pickup window to make to-go orders more convenient for customers.

According to Brown, work began almost immediately after the purchase was completed. Crews were sent to the property to start the rehabilitation process, which will include upgrades to the building, expanded seating areas, and additional parking.

The restaurant is tentatively aiming for an August opening at the new location. Brown noted that the timeline will depend on factors such as weather conditions, equipment availability, and supply delivery.
