Friday: Stygian: Adjective. Relating to the Styx River; very dark. The power went out during the storm, plunging the house into Stygian darkness.

Saturday: Frivol:  Verb. Behave in a frivolous way. She let herself frivol through the market, picking up a few small treats and gifts.

Sunday: Betise: Noun. A foolish or ill-timed remark or action. The chef shrugged at the betise of burning the first batch and simply started again.

Monday: Schism: Noun. A split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief. The argument at dinner over who makes the best gravy caused a schism in the family, and we planned a gravy tournament for Christmas.

Tuesday: Tertiary: Adjective. Third in order or level; relating to or denoting the medical treatment provided at a specialist institution. My primary care doctor recommended I visit a physical therapist for tertiary treatment.

Wednesday: Horology: Noun. The study and measurement of time. The art of making clocks and watches. The Victorian museum had an entire exhibit dedicated to the craft of horology.

Thursday: Demonym: Noun. A noun used to denote the natives or inhabitants of a particular country, state, city, etcetera. He knew the demonym for a resident of Indiana is “Hoosier,” but he didn’t know why.
