MK8 ‘A’ Baseball Team Is Competing Every Game

Marianna Middle School’s A-Team baseball squad has opened the season with a 3-6 record, showing steady improvement and strong individual performances throughout their recent stretch of games.

TCMS Bulldogs 7, Marianna Middle 0

Marianna Middle battled against the TCMS Bulldogs but fell 7-0 despite some bright spots. Jacob Eagle collected one of the team’s two hits and also added a triple earlier in the game. Kaleb Melvin recorded the other hit for Marianna. On the mound, Kaiden Rich started the game and struck out two batters over 1.2 innings while battling through a tough stretch. Jacob Eagle came on in relief and worked 2.1 innings, allowing just one hit while striking out two. Defensively and on the basepaths, Kaiden Rich also contributed with a stolen base as the Bulldogs held Marianna scoreless.

Marianna Middle 5, Roulhac Middle School 2

Marianna Middle bounced back the next day with a strong 5-2 victory over Roulhac Middle School. The team scored all five runs in a big third inning to take control of the game. Kaleb Melvin delivered one of the biggest hits of the day with a double and triple while driving in three runs. Colton Hinson added a hit and an RBI, and Kaiden Rich chipped in with a hit as well. Graham Milton, Will Dickson, Ashawri Curry, and Colton Hinson each scored runs to help power the offense. On the mound, Colton Hinson pitched a complete four-inning game, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out two batters to secure the win.

Florida High MS 7, Marianna Middle 4

Marianna Middle fought hard but came up short in a 7-4 loss to Florida High. The offense produced five hits and several extra-base hits to keep the game competitive. Ashawri Curry led the way with two hits and two RBIs, including both a double and a triple. Will Dickson, Kaiden Rich, and Grayson Davis each added a hit and scored runs for Marianna. On the mound, multiple pitchers shared the workload. Grayson Davis opened the game and worked 1.2 innings while allowing just one hit. Jacob Eagle followed in relief, and Kaiden Rich pitched 2.1 innings while striking out two batters and allowing only one earned run. Graham Milton also pitched an inning and recorded two strikeouts.

The team has shown promise with several extra-base hits, strong pitching outings, and the ability to produce runs in key moments as they continue their season.
