Roundabout Repairs Coming Soon
By: Shelia Mader
Marianna’s first-ever roundabout has been the source of conversation for over a year. The City of Marianna held a ribbon cutting ceremony December 4 recognizing the official opening of the roundabout for traffic.
The roundabout was busier than normal for several days following the ribbon cutting but has since settled into what would be considered normal for the area.
One of our readers brought us a picture of what they thought was a sinkhole already in place at the roundabout. That prompted a call to City Manager William Long to inquire about the damaged area. Long assured us that had been duly noted some two weeks ago and that they were waiting on dirt to settle before repairs were made to fix it.
It will be at no cost to the city as the utility company responsible for it will bear those expenses. So keep a look out for a new and improved roundabout coming soon.
