Marianna K8’s soccer teams hit the pitch for a busy and exciting start to their season, with the Lady Bullpups taking the field for three games and the Bullpups for two.

Both teams opened against Florida State University School on November 3. The Lady Bullpups started strong, securing their first win of the season with a 2–0 shutout. Goalkeeper Kate Barton was steady in the box, collecting four saves. Brooklyn Pecqueur struck first to put the Lady Pups on the board, and Destiny Tyus followed with the second goal to seal the victory.

The Bullpups battled hard in their opener but came up short in a 2–0 loss. Kiptyn Smith turned in an impressive effort in goal, stopping 15 shots, including two penalty kick attempts.

On Tuesday, the Lady Bullpups continued their strong run with a decisive 5–1 win over Maclay. Destiny Tyus led the charge with a hat trick, while Morgan Casey and Tajinay Smith each added a goal. Barton held firm in goal, allowing just one score while recording six saves.

The week wrapped up Friday on the road against Wakulla. The Lady Bullpups fought to a 1–1 draw, with Sabra Carter netting the team’s only goal. Barton was once again outstanding, finishing with seven saves.

The Bullpups closed the week with a close 2–1 loss. Jaxon Smith scored for the Pups, while Kiptyn Smith tallied 10 saves in goal, allowing just two scores.

The growing Marianna K8 soccer program continues to build momentum, giving young athletes valuable experience that’s already translating to success at the high school level. With each match, the Bullpups and Lady Bullpups are proving they’re a force to watch this season.
