Inett Kite

Inett Kite, 87, of Grand Ridge, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025.

She was born May 15, 1938 to Dempsey and Donnie Ray in Grand Ridge, FL. Inett was a life long resident of Jackson County and a graduate of the Grand Ridge Class of 1956. She worked at Florida State Hospital for 44 years, starting as an aid and retiring as a Ward Clerk. She loved tending her garden, ensuring the flowers were watered and the hummingbirds were fed. Above all, she cherished being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Inett was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, James “JJ” Kite; father and mother, Dempsey and Donnie Edenfield Ray; infant brother; and sister, Sara Frederick.

She is survived by her son, Jay Kite and wife, Patty; daughter, Karen Kite Beasley and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Jason Kite and wife, Cassie, Jordan Kite Martin and husband, Gage, Austin Livingston, and Lillie Livingston; great grandchildren, Ander Kite, Everlee Kite and Hardy Martin; sister, Carlyon Comerford, and husband, Pete, and Janice Cloud.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Gary Gable officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
