Lester Anne Pelt

Lester Anne Pelt, 93, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed peacefully from this life on July 3, 2025.

Anne was born on March 9, 1932, in Cottondale, Florida, to Lester James Jeffries and Annie Roberson Jeffries. After high school, she developed a lifelong passion for art, and her family’s time in Georgia afforded her the opportunity to study portraiture with renowned Russian artist Constantine Chatov and abstract painting with Bill Hendricks. After moving to Homestead, Florida, she attended the South Florida Art Institute in Hollywood, FL, where she studied watercolor and experimental art.

A prolific artist, Anne completed more than 300 commissioned portraits and shared her talents by teaching both adults and children. She also frequently served as a judge in various art shows. Most recently, she was an active member of the Cape Coral Art League, where she continued to paint in a variety of styles and mediums, always guided by inspiration in the moment.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Anne enjoyed traveling, participating in church activities, and dancing. Above all, she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl L. Pelt; and her son, Michael Pelt.

Anne is survived by her devoted companion, Allan Gottlieb; her son, Stephen Jeffries Pelt (Bonnie); her daughter, Shana LeFevers; her granddaughters, Seasha Rutledge (Lee) and Taylor LeFevers; her grandsons, Tony Buscemi, Wes LeFevers, and Will LeFevers; great-grandchildren, Colton Rutledge, Bailey Rutledge, and Emerson LeFevers; her sister, Mary Catherine Braxton; nieces, Cathi Braxton Addison and Kimberly Braxton Lloyd (Gary); and nephew, James Gray Braxton (Margaret).

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road), with Reverend James Gray Braxton officiating. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends for visitation immediately following the service.
