Burl Lumpkin

Burl was born Feb 22, 1930 in Knox County, TN. He lived a hard life, joining the Army Air Corp at the age of 16. When the U.S. Air Force separated from the Army Air Corp in 1947, Burl switched over to the Air Force and served his country for twenty years; including a tour of duty in Vietnam assigned as a advisor to the Vietnamese Air Force. He was wounded in action and treated in Saigon. He had a clear and sound mind but his body was no match for the aggressive cancer. He wanted it known that he was "right with the Lord" and forgave those that betrayed him. He also leaves behind a sister, Mary Boyd.

No services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
