Anthony Curtis "Tony" York

Anthony Curtis "Tony" York, 43, of Marianna, Florida, passed away in August of 2016. He was born on June 8, 1973, in Marianna, Florida.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Michael Curtis York; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. York; and maternal grandparents, Doris Victoria and Robert Curtis Benefield. 

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Lavetta; his son, Michael York; his sister, Leslie Springer; nieces Stephanie Christmas (Corey) and Leighann Springer (Tevin); nephews, James Christmas (Kristen), Michael Shores, and Trey Shores; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who loved him dearly.

Known as a “jack of all trades,” Tony had an extraordinary gift for creating something beautiful out of almost nothing. A skilled handyman, he could fix nearly anything and took pride in his work. His creativity, resourcefulness, and willingness to help others left a lasting mark on those who knew him.

Tony will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have known his kind heart and talented hands.

He will be laid to rest next to his father at Round Lake Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
