William "Alfred" Gay
William "Alfred" Gay, age 81, of Alford, FL passed away on November 30, 2025 at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Alfred was born on September 3, 1944 in Jackson County, FL to the late Eva Jewell and Arthur Mayo. Alfred was the owner and operator of Gay's Logging for over 42 years. After retirement, Alfred purchased more machinery to help his son in-law get stared in the land clearing business. In his free time, he enjoyed playing weekly poker his friends and building race cars in which he won the Snow Ball Derby, in which he took great pride in. Alfred enjoyed working with his cows, grilling and showing his horses. Above all, Alfred loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Gerald Gay; brother, Millard gay as well as his sister, Earma Jo Hendrix.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Debora Jean Gay of Alford, FL; sons, Daniel Lee Gay of North Dakota, James Eric Gay of Alford, FL; daughters, Tammy Gay of Round lake, FL, Candice Jackson (Brian) of Round Lake, FL, Cheyenne Gay of Alford, FL; brother, Eddie Fred Mayo (Judy Williams) of Round Lake, FL; sister, Janet Stokes of Round Lake, FL as well as his grandchildren, Dustin Lee Gay, Stephen Gay, Lawson Brooks, Barrett Jackson; two great grandchild, Cash Gay and Adeleigh Gay as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Williams officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Round Lake Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 1 P.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
