Carolyn Crumpler, 82, of Marianna, Florida passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her children at the time of her passing.
Carolyn was the daughter of Horace & Ruth Richbourg, born September 16,1943. She graduated from Marianna High School in 1961 and later studied at Chipola Jr. College. She married Kenneth Crumpler on August 5, 1961, and was a devoted and loving wife for 61 years before his passing in 2023.
Carolyn retired from Jackson Hospital where she worked as a medical transcriptionist and in radiology billing for many years. She made many friends over the years and was well-liked and respected by her colleagues throughout the medical community in Marianna.
Carolyn will be remembered as a selfless, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She was patient and kind, always with a quiet strength and a true example of grace and elegance. She never complained, concerned only with the needs of others and caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking for her family and friends and was a member of Cypress Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carolyn J. Crumpler was preceded in death by her parents, Horace & Nettie Ruth Richbourg; sister, Mattie Ruth Richbourg Williams; and husband, Kenneth S. Crumpler.
She is survived by her two children, Steve Crumpler (Tara) of Marianna, Fl and Wendy Crumpler Causey (Christian) of Jefferson, GA; grandchildren, Erika Braxton, Bret Crumpler (Shelby), Sterlin Crumpler, Joseph Causey, Waylon Crumpler (Trista), and Joshua Causey; great-grandchildren Hilton, Melton, Audrey, Jordyn and Kallie all of Marianna, FL; Brother-in-law Douglas Crumpler and wife Judy of Crestview, Fl and Sister-in-Law, Kaye Coats of Valdosta, Ga and her many nieces and nephews.
In honor of her final wishes, Mrs. Crumpler will be cremated and there will not be a formal service. Her family will have a private gathering at a later date.
