William Clinton Cox
William Clinton Cox, age 42, passed away at his home in Bascom on August 15, 2025.
He was born in Marianna on January 6, 1983. He attended Malone School, the Jackson Alternative School, Chipola College, and the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
A musician, writer, and publisher, William was a former employee of KFSM-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Old Kitchen Media in Bascom, Florida. He was the editor of several books, including The Battle of Massard Prairie, Arkansas. William enjoyed fishing, swimming, caving, reading, and gaming. He was an accomplished guitarist. He loved astronomy and dreamed of traveling among the stars.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Riley Cox of Bascom; his mother, Teresa Pike of Bascom; his father and stepmother, Dale Cox and Rachael Cox of Bascom and Dothan; his brother, Alan Cox, of Jacksonville; his grandmother, Pearl Cox, of Bascom; and many cousins, uncles, aunts, and other relatives.
Peavy Funeral Home of Blountstown, Florida, performed cremation. A public memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Bascom on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 10 a.m.
