In Celebration of a Life Well-Lived: Betty Elaine Peterson

December 24, 1943 – September 22, 2025

With full hearts and deep gratitude, we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty Elaine Peterson. She passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1943, Betty was a special gift to everyone who knew her. Her life showed the power of quiet strength, deep faith, and unconditional love. She was the heart of our family—the steady presence who brought us together through all of life’s ups and downs.

Betty shared many happy years with her dear husband, Charles “Pete” Peterson, who passed away on December 6, 2015. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and continued his service as a civil servant. Betty was his partner, his support, and his greatest comfort. Together, they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and faith.

Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She was happiest when her home was full of laughter, the kitchen was busy, and the sound of children playing filled the air. She gave freely, loved deeply, and created a home where everyone felt safe, welcome, and important.

She is survived by her children: Charles Peterson and wife Michelle, with their four sons and one daughter-in-law: Edith Andersen and husband Peter, with one son, one stepdaughter: Rebecca Ferre and husband Paul, with two daughters: Alycia Hawkesworth and husband Charles, with three daughters and one son.

Betty also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way—a beautiful reminder of the love and strength she passed down.

To know Betty was to feel truly cared for. She had a special way of making people feel loved—whether through a quiet talk, a shared laugh, or simply being there. Her love was a safe place, a source of comfort and hope.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Glenwood Cemetery to celebrate her life. Betty will be laid to rest beside her beloved Charles, together again in peace and love that lasts.
