Mother Annie Dee Nickson

Mother Annie Dee Nickson, 85, of Port St. Joe, Florida departed this earthly life on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Panama City, Florida after a life that radiated love, passion, and unshakeable faith.

Born in Port St. Joe, Florida, on Sunday, March 10, 1940, to Emmit Otis Nickson and Mamie Lou Nickson, she was a beacon of light and strength in her community and within her extensive, loving family.

Annie was a proud graduate of George Washington High School in Port St. Joe, Florida. Her education there laid a foundation for her strong work ethic and her commitment to service. She carried these values into her career as a dedicated cook at Tyndall Air Force Base, where she served with distinction until her well-earned retirement. Even after her retirement, Annie's heart for service led her to volunteer at North Florida Child Development Center, where she embraced the role of "Grandma", touching the lives of many children with her warmth and kindness.

Mother Nickson's life was a testament to her unwavering Christian faith. She gave her life to Christ on Tuesday, September 25, 1984, and from that day forward, she was a devoted student of the Word. She was a longtime member of Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church, where her service on the usher board and participation in various church organizations demonstrated her commitment to her faith and her church family. Mother Nickson's life was a living sermon, exemplifying the words of Scripture through her actions and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmit Otis Nickson and Mamie Lou Nickson; son-in-law, Edward Hill; granddaughter, LaTosha Arthur; great-granddaughter, LaTazsha Arthur; sisters, Dorothy Nickson and Shirley Brown; and brothers, James Nickson and Clinton Nickson.
