Barbara Jean (Ramsey) Wilt
Barbara Jean (Ramsey) Wilt joined her many beloved four-legged friends into the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, May 1, 2026. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, on November 21, 1958. Her parents were Bill Ramsey, Sr. and Donna Ramsey. Barbara attended high school and graduated from Lansing Christian School in 1976. She attended Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, and earned an Associate Degree from Chipola College in Marianna, Florida in 2006. She was a homemaker, but worked in healthcare and sales, and was a live-in foster parent at a camp for at-risk youth. She also volunteered for Dogs Inc. (formerly Southeastern Guide Dogs) and as a veterinary tech. Among her many hobbies, Barbara was a talented painter and photographer. She possessed a creative mind and talent for arts and crafts.
Her biggest passion was her love for dogs, especially Pomeranians. In the course of her life, she was “Mommy” to almost a dozen dogs, most of them Poms. She supported rescues around the country and even helped bring a dog to a friend in Coral Gables from Georgia.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Bill Ramsey, Sr. and leaves behind her husband of 21 years, Roy; her mother, Donna Ramsey, in Georgia; a brother, Bill, Jr., and his wife Teresa, their son Matthew and his wife Ireland (Irby), in Georgia, and a brother, Jay, his wife Christine, and his son Michael, in Michigan. She also leaves behind her four-legged children, Bandit and Savannah.

A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, May 16, 2026 beginning at 1:00 PM Eastern Time in the sanctuary of Grace Community Baptist Church 2059 Booster Club Road Bainbridge, GA 39819.

As they die, their energies
Rise to transform us
Mourn not the body,
It returns to dust, the soul
Becomes one with me
Will love and miss you,
Your precious spirit will guide
