Rosemary N. Tate
Rosemary Nobles Tate
Rosemary Nobles Tate left this earth and was promoted to heaven just after 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026. Rosemary was born on June 10, 1945 - she was 80 years old and passed away peacefully at her home in Marianna with family members by her side.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Novelle Melvin Delaney & William C. Nobles, and her sister Donna Delaney Easterling. She leaves behind a loving husband of over 60 and-a-half years – James D. Tate, Sr., and three sons, James Tate, Jr. ( Dawn) of Duluth, Georgia, Thomas D. Tate of Tampa, Florida, and Jeffrey W. Tate (Carol) of Apex, North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Beth Coulliette of Lynn Haven, Florida, her aunt, Lois M. McCallum of Marianna, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To know Rosemary was to know love, encouragement and grace. She was saved at a very young age and truly set a life-long example for her family and others on how to love and serve others like Jesus. Her Christ-like mindset drove her thoughts, her speech, and her actions in all that she did. Even all throughout her last days and weeks here on earth, her thoughts and words were centered around Bible verses, Christian Hymns, and calling upon her Lord and Savior Jesus to come quickly.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Marianna (Ruth Sunday School class), a charter member of Eastside Baptist, and a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church earlier in her life. One of her greatest joys in life was being a contributing part of a church family – whether it be teaching VBS, supporting mission efforts, or preparing meals for those in need. Some of her other great joys in life was spending time with her family and teaching her children and grandchildren truth from the Bible and praying for them, making family trips to the beach, and making the world’s best cream puffs!
The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Jimmy Tate officiating.
