Dean “Deano” Hinson

Dean “Deano” Hinson, born August 26, 1954, in Bonifay, Florida, passed away on April 28, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 70.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Hinson; his father, Johnny Hinson and his wife Dollie Hinson; his mother, Audrie Hinson; his brother, Johnnie James Hinson and his wife Judy Hinson; and his step-son, Christopher Coulliette.

He is survived by his two sons: Johnny Hinson and wife Mikki of Arkansas, and Michael Hinson and wife Kathy of Marianna, FL; his sister, Lonia Lollie and husband Billy of Grandridge, FL; his brothers: Garland Hinson and wife Barbara of Marianna, FL, and his twin brother Jack Hinson and wife Earldean of Marianna, FL. He is also survived by his step-children: Liz, Rickie, and Jessie Coulliette, all from Marianna, FL, as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

While many knew him as “Deano,” his favorite and most cherished role was that of “PawPaw” to his grandchildren.

Dean worked for several years at Malloy Gladiolus Flower Farm before dedicating the last 23 years of his career to Anderson Columbia as a heavy truck mechanic. The Vice President of Anderson Columbia shared that Dean was a diligent and loyal employee that worked with many young mechanics to impart his vast knowledge of heavy truck repair from the headlights to the taillights and the many components in between. Dean was known as a hard worker to anyone that knew him. In his spare time, Dean enjoyed scrap metaling and was known for being good-naturedly hard-headed—a trait his family lovingly referred to as “Deano’s special way of always being right, even when he wasn’t.”

The family would like to extend special thanks to family friends Sheyna and Dustin Weeks and their family, “Mean” Jean Kornegeay and husband Alan and their family, and Dean’s grandson Christopher Coulliette for their outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

Dean will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held on May 3rd at Christian Center Church, located at 4791 Sheffield Drive in Marianna, FL. Family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 am, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am. Chaplain Charles Jackson from Anderson Columbia will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home in Chipley, FL.
