Katherine Moore, affectionately known as “Lil Bit” by those who knew her best, embarked on her journey through life on October 27, 1972, in the warm, welcoming community of Graceville, Florida. Her radiant spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life’s every moment illuminated the world around her until her peaceful passing on April 28, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama.

Lil Bit’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. Though her father, Obdie D. Moore, had passed before her, she left behind a legacy of love and connection that will continue to thrive in her children, Logan Lee and Brittany Kirkland, her devoted mother, Betty Brooks, and her cherished siblings, Tosha Kirkland, Melissa Marshall, Marion Marshall, and Nicholis Daniels, along with his spouse Lynn. Her joy was multiplied by the laughter of her grandchild, and the affection of her aunts and uncles: Josephine Curry, Hilda McClendon, Frankie Curry, Juline Gardner, Laura McClain, Sharon Curry, Gloria Jean Nix, Willie Charles Nix, Elkay Curry, Danny Curry, and John Curry; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

With the heart of a lion and the warmth of the sun, Lil Bit faced life’s challenges with unwavering courage. She was a beacon of friendliness, always extending a hand of fellowship and a smile of genuine kindness. Her presence was a comforting balm to those fortunate enough to cross her path, and her memory will remain a guiding light, encouraging us to approach each day with courage and an open heart.

Lil Bit’s passion for life was paralleled by her fervent support for the Florida State University, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Through every season, she stood as a pillar of encouragement, her cheers echoing the strength of her spirit. She taught us that the thrill of the game lies not in victory alone, but in the pure love of the sport and the unity it fosters.

Public visitation will be 3-6 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

A life celebration will commence at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8, 2025, in the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida with Minister Josephine Curry officiating.

Lil Bit will be laid to rest in the Hinson Cemetery in Graceville, Browntown Community, Florida under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
