Dosha Hall was born in Blountstown, Florida, where she was raised and graduated from Blountstown High School. Much of her early life was spent on the family farm, where hard work was simply a part of everyday life. Those who knew her best described her as “first to rise, last one down,” a reflection of the hardworking and devoted woman she was throughout her life. The values she learned on the farm stayed with her. She spent much of her working life serving others, including many years as a dietary aide at a local nursing home. A natural caregiver with a heart for helping others, Dosha also devoted much of her life to caring for those in need. Her faith was at the center of her life. Dosha gave her life to the Lord at an early age and remained a devoted Christian throughout her lifetime. Her love for God and dedication to her church were evident to everyone who knew her. Affectionately known as “Mother” of the church, she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and spending time with her church family. Outside of church, Dosha loved cooking and baking, especially when it meant bringing the people she loved together. She treasured time spent with family and friends and found happiness in the simple moments shared with those closest to her. Family was at the heart of Dosha’s life. She shared a particularly close bond with her cousins, Laura and George, with whom she grew up and created memories that lasted throughout their lives. Dosha lived a life rooted in faith, family, service, and love. Whether she was caring for someone, preparing a meal, attending church, or simply spending time surrounded by family and friends, she gave of herself in ways that will not be forgotten. The love she poured into others will continue to live on through everyone blessed to have known her.
Dosha leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, James Hall, Patricia Allen, Prentice (Darlene) Hall, Geraldine Eaford, Pearl (Steven) Astwood, Roy Hall, Nathaniel Hall, Ruthcella (Theo) Brown, Bessie West, Mattie (Carl) Pelzer, Luvine (Terry) Martin, Ida Hall, Terry (Latasha) Hall, and Precious Hall, her beloved goddaughters, Tunishia (Debra Shawn) Beaman and DyNeish'a Mincy Simpson, her special grandson, Mark Hall Sr., along with her 53 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren, 57 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Hall; her mother, Ida Pearl Thomas; her sisters, Deloris and Evelyn; and her sons, Ozzie Hall and Leroy Hall. Dosha’s greatest legacy lives on through the family she loved and the generations that came after her. Her strength, love, and presence will continue to be carried in the hearts and lives of those she leaves behind.
