Judy Ann Gehring, a loving and devoted child of God, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama at the age of 81. She was born on February 8,1945 in Graceville, Florida, and attended Graceville School. She moved with her family to Panama City at the age of 16. At the age of 61, she moved back to Graceville. She attended church at the First Baptist Church in Graceville. At the age of 75, Judy moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Dothan, Alabama, due to health problems.
Judy was known as a kind and caring woman to her family and friends and all those with whom she came into contact. She had exceptional skills throughout her lifetime working in childcare, in daycare facilities as well as at home taking care of preschool children in her extended family. She also had a gift for homemaking and cooking. Her home was spotless and her coconut cake could not be beat! Judy loved the outdoors. She loved working in her flower garden and kept her hummingbird feeders full. Everyone loved “Juju” and she had a gift for sharing her love and her talents.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Carl Johns, and her mother, Camilla Johns; her first husband, Cecil Hiers and her second husband, Dale Gehring; her brother, Bo Johns and wife, Mary; her grandson, Corry Galetta; and her niece, Kristal Johns.
Judy is survived by her loving daughter, Wanda Hartley; son-in law, Lynn Hartley; brothers, Pete (Sharon) Johns, Bobby (Sue) Johns; aunt, Frances Bryan; nieces and nephews, Rita (Olin) Gilbert, Marti (Cliff) Cruse, Melanie (Scott) Walker, Kurt (Courtney) Johns, Brent (Kelly) Johns, Becky Johns (Gloria); great nieces and nephews, Jeanna (Brad) Carroll, Jill Gilbert, Chadd Cruse, Caitlyn Cruse, Spencer Walker, Hayden Johns, Lucas Johns, Connor Johns, Hallie Johns, Bradley Johns, Breanna Johns, Brylee Johns, Ty Johns, Terrell Johns, Sherrell Johns, Adrian Johns, Abigail (Aiden) Hirsh, Blake (Blake) Adams, Payton West, Nate Gibson, Hannah Gibson, Jake Gibson; great, great nieces and nephews, Chandler Carroll, Aubriana Carroll, Hayden Mercer, McKenzie Cruse, Emma Cruse, Eleanor Cruse, Lukas Adams and a host of cousins.
Visitation is to be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 9:30am – 10:30am at the James and Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville, Florida. Immediately following the visitation will be a processional to the Kent Forest Lawn Cemetery in Panama City, Florida for a graveside service at 12 pm, with Pastor Brent Johns officiating.
