Marian Ann Durden
Marian Ann Durden, age 65, of Grand Ridge, FL, passed away on July 16, 2026 in Dothan, AL. She was born on July 1, 1961, in Homa, Louisiana, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and a deep love for her family and faith.
Marian was a Christian and a faithful member of Praise Life Ministries Church. Her life was centered on serving others, and she found great joy in caring for those around her. She was known for her gentle spirit, her willingness to help, and her ability to make people laugh and feel welcome. Whether she was spending time with loved ones, caring for others, or enjoying a quiet day of fishing, Marian brought warmth and light wherever she went.
Among other jobs, Marian worked at Durden's Inn and Chipola Health and Rehabilitation, where she was appreciated for her dedication and dependable nature. Her work reflected the same compassion and commitment that she carried into every part of her life. Marian took pride in being helpful and in making a difference in the lives of others through both her work and her everyday actions.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Albert and Marie Louise Verdin Lacobon, and by her sisters, Barbara Walden and Yvonne Lacobon.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Royce W. Durden; her daughter, Marilyn Lacobon (Jason); her brothers, Tony Lacobon, Justin Lacobon, Kenneth Lacobon and his wife, Melvina, Paul Lacobon, Tommy Lacobon, and Anthony Lacobon; her sisters, Rose Schoell (Hector), Diana Matherne, and Carolyn Parfait and her husband, Lloyd; her grandchildren, Joseph Turner and Dylan Turner; and her great-grandchildren, Noah, Liberty, and Dylan, Jr. She also leaves behind a host of other family including her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish her memory and the many ways she touched their lives.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Praise Life Ministries Church with Pastor Gary Cook officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday July 22, 2026 at Praise Life Ministries Church.
