Misty LaJune Byers
Misty LaJune Byers
Misty LaJune Byers, known lovingly as Misty, was born on April 28, 1983, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and passed away on April 1, 2026, in Chattahoochee, Florida, leaving behind a life that was as memorable as it was meaningful.
Misty had a way of making an ordinary day feel like it had a punchline hidden somewhere in it. She was the kind of woman who could sit down with a sweet tea, watch a crime documentary, and somehow act like she was one clue away from solving the whole case before the detectives did. She had a sharp sense of humor, a warm heart, and a gift for making people feel welcome, even when she was teasing them just enough to keep them on their toes. Her laughter had a way of filling a room, and her presence had a way of reminding everyone that life is better when you do not take yourself too seriously.
She was a loving, courageous, and selfless woman who gave her time and care freely to the people she loved. Misty worked as a service worker, where her strong work ethic and dependable spirit were evident to everyone around her. She did not just show up. She showed up with heart, with grit, and with the kind of personality that made even hard days easier to get through. Even though life wasn’t so kind, it taught her plenty, and she learned how to meet it with strength, humor, and grace.
Misty found joy in the simple things that made life feel full. She loved watching a good show, and if there was a mystery involved, she was interested. She enjoyed arts and crafts. She had a wonderful eye for decorations. As well as spending quality time with her family and the people close enough to be considered family, which in Misty’s world was a title earned by love, loyalty, and showing up. She had a way of making ordinary moments matter, whether she was sharing a laugh, a story, or just sitting together in comfortable silence.
Misty is survived by her children, Kiri Byers and Kolby Stidam, who were among the greatest joys of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Lejune Young Allen; her father, Michael T. Allen; her sister, Tesha DeMuth, and husband Matthew DeMuth; and her brother, Branan Allen. Her memory will also be cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with countless others whose lives were brightened by her love, her humor, and her unforgettable spirit. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Larry and Patricia Young, and her paternal grandparents, Lafayette and Joyce Allen.
Misty’s life was a reminder that strength does not always arrive with a loud announcement. Sometimes it shows up in a steady voice, a funny comment at the perfect moment, a helping hand, or a sweet tea in hand while the world spins a little too fast. She will be remembered for her kindness, her bravery, her selflessness, and the way she could make people laugh even when they were trying not to. Her story was one of love, resilience, and a whole lot of personality, and that combination is not easily forgotten.
Though her time here ended far too soon, the impact of Misty’s life will continue in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind memories that will be told and retold, often with laughter, because that is exactly how she would have wanted it. Her family and friends will carry her with them always, grateful for the love she gave, the strength she showed, and the joy she brought into the world.
